The Descriptive Word

The word “Description” is defined as
- a spoken or written account of a person, object, or event.
- a type or class of people or things.

From young, we are thought to describe what we see- what shape or color is a flower. What sounds a horse makes? And how does your friend look like? What color is her hair?

Young to old, I have been through it too. I am going to speak mostly for myself here, I have heard many a different descriptions about myself. I shall give you a little background, for example, of who I believe I am - I am an opinionated woman, and I don’t belief in being “adult and serious” all the time. I prefer getting into mischievous , quirky drama and having a good laugh as I watch life’s lemons miss me. Today is today, let tomorrow figure itself out. Hop on a horse and  ride the wind!(unless..you don’t actually know how to ride)

I am not sure how, but these words(I swear on my horse) has been used to describe my character:
opinionated – “difficult”
Kidder – “childish”
Mischievous, quirky, creative or a little emotional as women sometimes are – “dramatic” (and not in the good way)
laughing at lemons – “mental distress”
Today is today, let tomorrow figure itself out – “indecisive”
Asking people to hop on a horse – “mad”

Though, I’ll probably agree with the last one..

I am not entirely certain why it is so difficult for some, but I think it is important to acknowledge someone’s positive traits and respect that we are all different . For example  I  have also been said to be creative, friendly, bubbly, and a confident person.

There, now that wasn’t so hard, was it?

Speaking on the 2nd definition of description, recently, I have even heard of a man being described as Dark, with a class lower than another persons’. I do not think the definition should be taken so figuratively, and it’s downright rude to describe someone using their color, earning , race, religion or “caste”. In the eyes of THE HE, every person is created equal(maybe some with more brainpower), and nothing I have mentioned in the previous sentence can define a person’s behavior or good heart. Don’t believe me? Just look up Osama’s family background. His father came from a poor family but he worked hard to come up in his life and became one of the most rich non-royal in modern Saudi. Rich, fair, and almost Royal – is not the words the world would use to describe Bin Laden Junior.

So the next time someone describes to me something in such a negative manner, tell you what. I am turn to them and tell them to hop on a horse, and ride right into hell.
